Stormwater pipe
HDPE corrugated structured wall, DN225 to DN1050, SN8 to AS/NZS 5065. A-grade and factory seconds.
Corrugated structured wall polyethylene: a corrugated outer wall for ring stiffness and a smooth inner bore for flow, at a fraction of the weight of concrete. Every size we carry exceeds 8,000 N/m/m ring stiffness, which classifies it SN8 under AS/NZS 5065. It tolerates ground movement without cracking, which matters on the reactive clays through this district, and installed to the manufacturer’s guidelines it is rated well beyond 50 years.
Joints are spigot and socket with an elastomeric rubber ring, designed against AS/NZS 5065, with EPDM or SBR seals complying with AS 1646. A witness mark is moulded onto the pipe so you can see the spigot is home - on the fourth corrugation, or the fifth on DN225. Seals and lubricant are a separate line; they are not supplied with seconds.
We sell A-grade and factory seconds side by side, and the seconds are where most of the value sits. They are the same pipe and the same stiffness, carrying cosmetic defects that do not affect performance in the ground. Some have no flange. For farm drainage, culvert extensions and paddock work that is usually irrelevant, and the saving runs to roughly a third.
The pipe is made in Australia from 100% recycled and recyclable polyethylene. Design and installation follow AS/NZS 2566.1 and 2566.2, and testing and commissioning AS/NZS 2033. Tell us the cover depth and what drives over it and we will confirm the size and the bedding before you order.
